‘Tender’ is a documentary on the work of a Community Centre Committee of Management, staff and volunteers as they seek to innovate for the sake of the local, largely low income community. The vision? To be able to take care of funeral arrangements for their members, to be able to bury them in a natural cemetery.

To quote the program guide, ‘The film follows the wonderful people of the Port Kembla Community Centre and their ambition to establish a not for profit Funeral business. As plans move forward, the community set out on their plans though they are unexpectedly confronted by the imminent death of one of their own. I found myself so moved by this doco I had to watch it twice because I missed so much through my tears.’
